Quenchers show Report
Last Friday we had a wonderful time playing at Quenchers with Rock Falls, the Van Goghs and Tin Tin Can. All three of the bands we played with were excellent.
Rock Falls started out the night with a sweet set. They had a very soft, hypnotic and melodic sound that really drew me in. Very quiet, yet powerful. Their singer has a really appealing voice, it kind of reminded me of portishead.

The Van Goghs were a strong band with great tunes and super cool guys to boot. It was our first time experiencing them live and they had a really cool retro 60’s vibe, check them out at

and finishing out the night was Tin Tin Can. This was our third time playing with them and they were excellent as usual. If you havent yet, you need to check them out at www.tintincan.com
thanks again to our friends who came out and to the bands who made the night great!

Mana Kintorso & friends howl at CJ’s Lounge 4/17
Get out the “rad” carpet as Mana Kintorso brings three other great acts with them to CJ’s Lounge on Saturday April 17th. The night will kick-off with utter blessed controversy from the always intentional expressions of Jonsson. Dave’s country boogie acoustic songs will keep you guessing.
Then, Jenny Franck will make her Rockford debut. Jenny and her mates will tantalize more than your taste buds. This three-piece delivers a cool vibe rock sound reminiscent of Evanescence meets Cat Power.
Yours truly is up next with a bad-to-the-bone set of new and old MK originals. And the night closes with Rockford native Zero Johnny and his new band making the trek North from Bloomington, IL for a set of silky-scary love songs that’ll leave us all howling at the moon.
Bring the whole fam damnly for this one:D
KRYPTO SHOW SAT. APRIL 3rd!
Hi cool kids. Come on out and have tons of fun with us on Saturday, April 3rd. At about 10:00 our good friend Micky Rosenquist will be starting the night out right with his carefully crafted songsmithery and pop rock masterpiecery. Mana Kintorso will get going about 11ish and rock till a little after midnight. Then be sure and stick around to watch Chicago science rockers, Overman close out the night. These guys write smart/poppy/catchy tunes about science and everything else. Check them out at www.overman.info
Mary’s Place show was sweet!
.Just wanted to touch base with our MySpace domain and give a shout out to the MK fans that saw us at our Mary’s Place debut last Saturday. If you missed it, it was quite a night all starting with Damion’s B-day! Hope y’all made it home safe after that raucousness–Damion has that effect on people:)
The Scattered Remains came over from Chicago and kicked the night off with a sound like Willie Nelson got rockabilly. I really want to see them again. The Curses came up from Champaign and entertained all with a sprite set of many instruments…I think they win the award for the most instruments ever used by four people in a 50 minute period of time. Twas most interesting and it took me back a bit with their clip joint music style.
Mana Kintorso closed the night a with a darkly pop infused sonic set of fresh originals and one standout violently femmed cover of Gone Daddy Gone. We all had a great time making lots of beautiful noise for the warm receptive lawlessness of our audience. Special big thanks to Jack for being a great host. We’re looking forward to another show booking at Mary’s Place in the near future.
